ITALIAN WINE TASTING
The "Taste of Italy," the popular wine tasting
which also serves as the Opening Ceremonies of the Italian
Festival will be located again this year to Exhibition Hall
on Mercer Street, right next to McCaw Hall, in the heart of
the Seattle Center grounds.
The "Taste of Italy" is a chance for the
general public to try some seventy wines from Italy at the
minimal cost of $25 per person in advance, or $30 at the door.
Each ticket includes a souvenir wineglass and five 2 oz. tastings
of wine. Additional tastings may be purchased for $2.50 apiece,
and there will be sparkling water, bread, Italian antipasti
and cruditès available for palate-cleansing.
You must be 21 years of age to be able to attend this event
and there is no child-care provided. In addition, attendees
will be able to view samples from the Foto-Italiana photography
exhibit and purchase wine to be delivered the following week
from a representative of Delaurenti Food & Wine.

To purchase tickets in advance, send a self-addressed stamped
envelope along with a check made out to "Festa Italiana"
in the amount of $25 per person to "Taste of Italy,"
Box 9549, Seattle, WA 98109.
WINE & BEER GARDENS
Because of the Italian tradition of marrying
wine and beer with food, there will be three Wine & Beer
Gardens at the Italian Festival, both sponsored by Ruffino
Wine and Moretti Beer. One Wine and Garden will be in the
Fisher Pavilion with a nice view of the Mainstage, one will
be on the Fisher Roof in the "Piazza Food Court,"
and the other will be in the Fisher Pavilion Courtyard featuring
strolling musicians playing your Italian favorites in the
sunshine. Look for the colorful umbrellas and the white picket
fences.

Caposaldo Wines (Chianti and "Lumina" Pinot
Grigio) by the bottle for $16.00
Caposaldo Prosecco by the glass for $4.00
Moretti Beer - Rosso & Lager (imported) by the
bottle for $4.00
Tuaca Liquore Italiano by the shot for $4.00 or with
San Pellegrino sparkling water for $4.00
San Pellegrino Italian Sparkling Water by the 8 oz.

Acqua Panna Italian Spring Water by the 8 oz. bottle
for $1.00
By Washington State law, no one under the
age of 21
